NYC is at its most photogenic in the fall and whether you live here permanently or you’re just passing through, there are so many places to capture as you make your way around town. Before we dive into this unofficial fall Instagram bucket list (you’re welcome), turn your AC down, grab a warm cup of tea, dim the lights, and snuggle up in your coziest pajamas. This post is dedicated to autumn lovers, NYC-obsessed souls, traveling nomads, and the oh-so-basic Instagram girls. You comfy now? Great—let’s get started.
As seen in many Tumblr, Pinterest, and Instagram photos over the years, it’s no surprise that this is the place to come during the fall season. Not only is it glorious because the leaves change colors and it’s totally a perfect background for your fall inspired #OOTD pic, but it’s also so peaceful. The vibe in the park during this chilly season is one to bring happiness, peace, and contentment. Who wouldn’t want that in a busy city like New York? Grab some warm apple cider, get those winter coats ready, and sit on a bench with a good book. Don't forget to take in all the beauty around you after you get your pics—it's something you don't want to miss IRL.
The New York Coffee Festival
For those of you out there that are functioning right now because of the five lattes you had this morning, this is for you! (It’s okay, we’re in the same boat—do you!) The New York Coffee Festival runs October 13-15th and takes place at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street at Sixth Avenue). Show your followers just how committed you are to your caffeine addiction by snapping the cutest flat-lays. It has everything you could want from sampling hundreds of different cups of coffee to seeing how they do those incredible latte foam art, there is something for everyone. The Color Factory
I didn’t forget about the colorful feeds out there! The Color Factory is one of the coolest, most educational, and highly interactive attractions for all things color. Started by Jordan Ferney for the sole purpose to provide visitors with a fun way to explore color, there are several rooms to snap the pics in, but the most popular (and in our opinion the most fun) is definitely the blue ball pit. Your Instagram feed won’t be lacking after a visit to this museum and in the midst of chilly weather and busy streets, it’s an easy way to feel like a kid again. Check out their Instagram HERE.
So if you've never heard of Chillhouse before, allow us to introduce you. It's basically heaven on earth—if you're looking for a fresh mani, a massage, cute merch, a latte, and a place to escape the craziness of the city, then you've found the right spot. Not only is it everything that we put on our Christmas list (yes, we're already making that), but it's also the cutest place for an Instagram photo shoot. Grab a cute outfit, a matcha latte, and your camera, and you're ready to go! Check out their Instagram HERE.
Fort Tryon Park
After you've snapped some photos at Central Park, make the trip uptown to this amazing park that is just as beautiful and will probably much less crowded. Fort Tryon Park in Washington Heights is just a few stops away from central Manhattan and is secretly a little slice of heaven. You don’t have to go where the tourists go and you may just have more room to walk around and take your time getting the perfect shot! Enjoy a picnic with friends, or bring a book to flip through, or pop into the Cloisters and get ready to provoke Instagram envy from all of your followers.
Harvest Fest and Pumpkin Patch
If you’re looking for a great place to hang with your family, take some family photos and grab a pumpkin to carve later, then the Harvest Fest and Pumpkin Patch will be just the thing. Held at the Queens Botanical Gardens you’re sure to find what you’re looking for. Locate your cutest fall boots and mark your calendars for Sunday, October 14th. The best part is that you can hit up the food and beer vendors around the gardens afterward and get all the Instagram content (food included) covered in one trip! Don’t forget to carve something really cute and share to your Instagram stories! Tag us for us to see what beautiful designs you come up with. For more information on the Fest, click HERE!
